| DEX
Buzz Box® is designed to be run standalone or interface with your route accounting
system. Standalone,
the DEX
Buzz Box® curbside
polling system will allow you to maintain a list of locations, equipment assigned
to that location, the products sold in those machine, as well as their selling
prices. In addition, the system will allow you to track which route each machine
is assigned to. The system will also provide numerous accountability and management
reports to track your cash and product sales. If
you currently have a route accounting system DEX
Buzz Box®is able
to work in conjunction with your system to provide information as to whether the
machines need service, the amount of each product needed to fill the machines,
and if the machines need change. |
The DEX Buzz
Box® system is made up of several key components.
 |
Transmitting
Unit This
small black box, measuring only 3.75" X 4.75" X 1.25", is easily installed in
any vending machine that is DEX capable. The unit reads the DEX information of
the machine and converts it to a radio signal that it then broadcasts. The route
driver is able to pick up the information right from the truck, upon arriving
at the location to service the machine. |
 |
Receiving
Unit This
small portable device, measuring only 3.25" X 6.50" X 1.25", is designed so that
it can be mounted in the truck or the drivers can carry it with them. Used in
conjunction with a hand held computer, the Receiving Unit receives the signals
from the Transmitting Units in the area. |

 |
Handheld Computer The
handheld computer performs several functions. It communicates with the Receiving
Unit to receive information about the machines. The hand held computer keeps a
database on each machine, so that picking ticket information can be generated
from the data received from the machines. The picking ticket is then used by the
driver to pull the product needed to refill the machine. The following handheld
computers have been certified for use with the DEX Buzz
Box® system. Psion

PickMaster
Software The
heart of the DEX Buzz Box® system is the PickMaster
software that is use on both the host side and the hand held side. The host side
is Windows 9.x, 2000 and XP compatible. The hand held computer software is compatible
with the units referenced above. All of the information that is needed to run
the system can be founded on either on the handheld computer or the host including
information such as locations, machines, products, stocks, individual column selections,
pars, pricing, and routes exist. As machines are serviced throughout the day data
is collected on product sales and cash received. The software uses this data to
generate a variety of management reports. | |
Thermal Printer
A
new range of thermal printer is designed to satisfy many end user requirements
for receipt printing with a low power consumption, portability and low noise operation.
This optional printer can be used to generate picking tickets or end of day management
reports. | | |
